Rafael Devers had two hits, two RBIs and three runs, Heliot Ramos and Willy Adames delivered two-run hits and the San Francisco Giants spoiled Mookie Betts' return to the lineup with a 9-3 road win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night.
Having missed five weeks with a strained right oblique, Betts went 1-for-5 with a strikeout as the Dodgers lost their third straight.
After a Max Muncy solo home run, his 11th, produced a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning, the Giants scored three in the seventh off Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia (1-1) to take the lead for good. Devers put the visitors in front when he drew a bases-loaded walk, after which Adames went to right field for a two-out, two-RBI single.
In beating the Dodgers for the third time in four tries this season, the Giants blew the game open with a three-run ninth that included Adames' third RBI on a single and a second bases-loaded walk, this one drawn by Matt Chapman.
Matt Gage (3-1), who came on in relief of Trevor McDonald in the sixth inning and retired all five batters he faced, was credited with the win.
Devers opened the scoring with his fifth homer of the season, a leadoff shot the second inning against Dodgers starter Roki Sasaki.
Ramos gave San Francisco a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth with a two-RBI double.
In between the Dodgers scored twice in the fourth on an RBI single by Muncy and a double-play groundball with the bases loaded.
McDonald allowed three runs and nine hits in his 5 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out four.
Sasaki was pulled after five-plus innings, and he was charged with three runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out five.
Ramos, Adames, Luis Arraez and Casey Schmitt joined Devers with two hits apiece for San Francisco, which won its second in a row. Schmitt scored three times.
Muncy, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Teoscar Hernandez collected two hits apiece for the Dodgers. Muncy finished with two RBIs.
