Couts was raised in a musical family in the entertainment industry in London. After excelling at school and college in music, drama, and film and TV studies, he went straight into directing, acting, and musical arts. He began his career directing and producing music videos in the UK, but soon moved into directing larger projects as his passion was always narrative filmmaking and cinematic storytelling.

After a short break from entertainment, Couts returned to the film scene in 2019 after garnering recognition in Hollywood for some of his older work, which opened the door for him to share his vision with the world on a bigger scale. After being specifically sought out and asked to work on some bigger projects, Couts now has films lined up as he continues his filmmaking career internationally.

In 2020, Couts co-founded and serves as the CEO of Opulence Pictures-a Hollywood film production company with the mission to produce movies that aim to inspire audiences around the world and improve mindsets. The company has a large upcoming slate and focuses on producing movies that touch on social and environmental issues, as well as biographical success stories. Most movies produced by Opulence Pictures are being and will be directed by Couts.
